If someone were to ask about the differences between Parliament and Funkadelic, I would pull out 2 albums, and play them back to back. First, Id play "Motor Booty Affair" by Parliament which will start you groovin and dancin.. its got some great humor, and you instantly recognize the funk.. Then Id play Funkadelics "Maggot Brain", and Id get with, "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?". Maggot Brain, I feel is a great inspiration to Frank Zappas Overnight sensation... its a funky hard rock masterpiece with a killer ensemble. The Eddie Hazel solo on the title track is an often ignored performance that ranks in the top 10 guitar solos of all time. Super Stupid and Wars of Armageddon are all brilliant. Im tellin ya... not much can top George Clinton on LSD!!
