Embrace the cowbell on House of the Jealous Lovers, and lovely synths on the track Sister Saviour.

It was so much fun discovering this album 20+ years late. It's clear that The Rapture were early flag bearers for the post-punk indie scene that came to life in the '00s. There were heavy hints at James Murphy throughout. Wasn't surprised to learn this was released on DFA. There were whispers of Cut Copy and Hot Chip, as well, that made this one feel familiar and fresh at the same time. Olio, The Coming Of Spring and Killing were my favorites. The juxtaposition of the raw, lazy Open Up Your Heart with the tight, up-tempo disco beat of I Need Your Love was the best part, though. Definitely going to revisit this one. Awesome pick!
