What mood does April Come She Will put you in, and does its brevity work for or against it?

This is actually my favorite song on the soundtrack. “Mrs. Robinson” obviously has its place at the table. It’s iconic, and probably the song most people immediately associate with *The Graduate*. But for some reason, “April Come She Will” has always felt like such unmistakably prime Simon & Garfunkel to me. It’s quiet, simple, melodic, a little melancholy, and those harmonies sound effortless. As for the brevity? I think it works in its favor. It’s barely there long enough to settle in before it’s gone, which somehow fits the song perfectly. It feels almost like a memory — this beautiful little moment that passes quicker than you want it to. Maybe that’s part of why I like it so much.
