Hi groovy people! I’m Suzanne, and I am totally in love with 60s music. I’m excited to meet other people who share this love. Let’s start by sharing our top two bands. Mine are The Beatles and The Monkees. I don’t think I can narrow down my favorite albums, but feel free to share yours if you can. Thanks for joining me in the time machine!
Hey Suzanna - thanks for starting the club! I'm Michael (a.k.a. Jangles). I'd say I dabble in the 60s, though I've connected with my mom through the Beatles since I sat in front of the turntable and played Nowhere Man on repeat as a kid. I'd have the Beatles in my top 2, as well, along with The Grateful Dead. I was excited to see a club start in Scranton, by the way. I'm originally from the cornfields about 30 minutes northwest of Allentown.
@Jangles nice to meet you! I love the Nowhere Man story. I have my dad to thank for my Beatles love, so I can relate. I’ll be sure to add some Grateful Dead to our listening for you. I’ve got family down that way, so I’m pretty familiar with it. The cornfield parts are beautiful!
Just two bands?! *panics* Beach Boys and… REM? I feel like if I was Sophie but I had 200 children. Fave albums are Pet Sounds and In a Silent Way by Miles Davis. And like a hundred others.
@aaroncurtis thanks for joining us! You can name more favorites if you’d like. I just needed to narrow it down before I named way too many.
Hi all! I’m Susan and I love most music genres (except country), I have a particular affinity for 60s and 70s. It is difficult to choose favorite anything when it comes to music but the Beatles is definitely one of my faves. As for other 60s bands/artists, I would say Traffic or Cream. Ask me tomorrow and it will probably be different.
@Swortham1 thanks for joining us! I have the same probably when it comes to choosing favorites for sure.
