The album cover sparked controversy upon release — does knowing that context change how you hear the record?

*quickly googles the context* It's wild looking at covers of modern records that a toilet would spark a problem at the time. I don't know that this specific tale changes my listening, but I always am drawn to music and releases that have an interesting story or trivia behind it.

Imagine considering this indecent and then 5 years later The Rolling Stones release Sticky Fingers with a zipper revealing someone wearing only underwear.

I find it hilarious because if you listen to the album, and look at the album cover, I would have never imagined their would be any controversy about this album at all. Also, album controversies have come a long way since then. There have been artists posing nearly nude on their albums, so this is nothing compared to that. Also, hilarious that the image of a toilet was the most controversial image at one time in history. Maybe this is reaching, but maybe having an image of a toilet on the cover shows how vulnerable and intimate their songs go.
