On Tomorrow Never Knows - Remastered 2009, does the heavy reliance on avant-garde tape loops enhance or detract from the song's musical core?

This is one of my favorite Beatles songs, so of course I’m going to say good things about it. I think the tape loops add to the theme of the song. It’s that uncertainty of what tomorrow will bring, plus some chaotic sounds and driving drumbeats. It all fits together really well.
