This month our theme is bands and groups. Every week we will have one album by a band or group to listen to and discuss. Let me know if you have any suggestions for an album or for future themes! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I think I listen to a song off of this album at least once a week. I also thoroughly enjoy every members solo work. If you haven’t checked out Matt, Pat, Steve, or Syd you definitely should. Steve is also a big reason why I decided to learn guitar. They posted on their group instagram about 2 years ago that they’re working on a new album so hopefully we get that soon. I NEED to see them live.
Also! Steve has produced/played guitar/wrote for a bunch of artists like Solange, Ravyn Lenae, Kendrick Lamar, and Childish Gambino. Syd also has written/produced for Beyonce, Tyler the Creator, and Daniel Caesar. Patrick also played bass on Beyoncé’s Renaissance album and Matt has produced for Odd Future , Goldlink and more. This band is filled with of very talented musicians and honestly I don’t think they get enough recognition.
