I was wondering if anyone was going to pick this one. Excited to see if it stirs up some conversation. I definitely have some thoughts...

Given it two spins and a few short sessions so far. Dropped some comments into the other threads. Overall, I've found this one hard to sit with. I'm not a Drake fan at all, but I usually find enough goodness in any album to enjoy a listen. The only thing I really enjoyed with this one were the beats. To be simple about it, Drake's constant narcissism combined with self-pity is so tiring. The song titles change but the story's the same. His delivery is boring. The beat switches are forced. It's just...not anything of substance. Looking forward to hearing what others think. It's definitely a big moment for hip-hop.

@Jangles it's the narcissism and self-pity for me. I can deal with one or the other in music but not both. You don't get to be the villain and the victim at the same time

Really took my time on this one. Even with a good amount of reading online I really haven't found anything to convince me otherwise - this is not a good album.

@Creesjoint what are top 3 on the album for you?

@harlanworld 1. Make them pay 2. Shabang 3. Firm Friends Number 1 and 2 clear the other songs for me. Number 3, it could’ve been a lot of songs on the album because they’re all tied to me. I do really enjoy Drake when he just raps with no chorus on an RnB sample.

This album isn't good at all. I wanted to find something I could enjoy but it sounds like a bunch rough drafts

I’m really late to the conversation lol but my thoughts on this album is it was mid. I do think that Drake has slowly been getting lazier with his music. I was having a conversation in a group chat and they were saying Drake isn’t a lyrical rapper so we have to stop expecting that, but I disagree. He has some trendy songs for the radio, some melodic songs, and there are definitely some lyrical songs under his belt too. I appreciate Drake for what he is/ has become as an artist and I know that going into an album I’m mostly gonna be looking for a trendy song to dance to or sing to, not a thought provoking song. All that to say, I kind of enjoyed the album after relistening multiple times. It is definitely one of the worst in his catalog along with the other 2 he dropped lol.
