Does Down And Out In New York City work better as a film opener or as a standalone soul record on its own terms?

I think it works as a film opener better. The track sounds like the city of NYC with all of this bustling energy to it

I haven't seen the film so it's hard to answer the question. I do think the song works well as exposition for the album. Definitely agree that it has strong '70s NYC vibes.
