Starting with number 353 on Rolling Stone’s 2024 list. Five of these songs have found their way to my playlists. Song number one is Let the Good Times Roll. Indeed.

The Cars by The Cars came out in 1978. I had this cassette at some point in the late seventies or more likely the eighties. I still know every word to every song so I obviously listened to it often. Several of these tunes are classics.

By the way, I don’t defend the idea that these really are the top 500 albums. Several of my favorites didn’t make the list, The Cure- Disintegration being an egregious oversight!

Cool club theme. Looking forward to seeing what albums pop up.

I had forgotten how good the Cars record is!! It has been too long since I have it a listen!

I had never listened to John Pine before this exercise. And into the second song, I was Ok with it. This is twangy Bob Dylan wannabe. But then the third song. And the fourth. All of a sudden, these songs became very engaging stories. Even those first two songs sounded better. You see, I am about believing the artist. If you sing like crap, but I believe it…I’ll be into it. So this style is a little more countryish than I prefer, but it really doesn’t matter. By the way, as an almost 60 year old dude, the tune ‘Hello in There’ hit a little close to home. Just sayin’.

@Okduke @william shared his album Sweet Revenge in his first club and it absolutely blew me away. An incredible songwriter with a sharp tongue and witty pen.

By the way, John Prine’s self titled LP ranked 149 in the last Rolling Stone list. Also, I’ve erroneously posted the Prine album for next week, too. I cant figure out how to delete or update that entry. I’ve inquired about it.

@Okduke Hey! Just wanted to make sure you received my email (Michael@soundclub.app). My address gets caught in SPAM filters sometimes. If you go to your club page and click on the "upcoming" tab you should see a settings button on the top right hand corner of the future album. You can delete it there.

Just a heads up...especially to you ghostpetals...I made an error when entering the Billie Eilish album. I used the wrong start date which caused last week's Prince entry to be removed entirely from the club. If you were looking earlier today, you may have noticed that Dirty Mind was not listed in our club. I reached out to get some help fixing it. The developers were able to restore Prince and made the Eilish album start on Tuesday. This will result in ghostpetal's comments on Eilish's album being removed. I have taken pictures of two of them and will repost them as soon as I can. Apologies for the confusion that my mistake has caused.
