What do you make of an album this dark and anxious becoming one of the biggest mainstream pop records of its era?

WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? by Billie Eilish · Rolling Stone Magazine Top 500

Considering what the following year and beyond held, it could have been a foreshadowing of how people were feeling.

Hadn't thought about that, @ghostpetals I was so excited for this album as a really thoughtful, unique piece of art breaking through. Billie's a generational talent vocally and Finneas is an incredible producer. They went for a very specific vibe and delivered so well on it.

Given the way this music came together, it has an honesty to it. Dark honesty, maybe. I feel like people appreciate honesty even when it is dark. There is also a unique sound and she can really sing. That is a pretty compelling combination of attributes for a new album. Dark honesty. Interesting production. Soothing vocals.
