melodrama is one of my all time favorite albums bc it really captures that feeling of trying to be grown up during a breakup at a young age but still feeling the bitterness, resentment, and recklessness that comes with being young. it’s dramatic and messy, hence the name melodrama.
“blow all my friendships to sit in hell with you, but we’re the greatest. they’ll hang us in the louvre” is a great line bc it truly captures just how messy and dramatic young love it. everything is exaggerated bc it really does feel like the most important thing in world at the time. this type of love is truly only felt once in adolescence bc when you get older relationships are less black and white and you really start to understand the complexities that come along with it.
