The teenage love triangle across cardigan, august, and betty gives equal weight to all three perspectives — whose version of events did you find most sympathetic?

i always found the love triangle to be one of the best, and most clever parts of the album. especially how the songs tend to interlink with each other- Betty- “When she pulled up like a figment of my worst intentions, she said james get in, let’s drive” August- “Remember when I pulled up and said get in the car” Cardigan- “I knew you’d miss me once the thrill expired and you’d be standing in my front porch light” Betty- “Betty I’m here on your doorstep” i would augustine’s perspective to be tue most sympathetic bc just like how Swift explains it in the Long Pond Sessions- “She was never a ‘bad girl’ she just wanted to be seen by someone who might care for her.
