Thundercat's bass is often the most human-feeling element in the mix — how does it shift the emotional register when it drops out?

Tracks featuring Thundercat seem to fit more traditional songwriting structures; clearer verses, chorses, bridges, etc. They're kind of welcome stepping stones as we move through the more free form structures and crazy sonic palettes of other tracks. The stretch of Mmmhmm > Do the Astral Plan > Satellliiiiiiteee is such a cool experience of moving from the soft, welcoming sounds to outer space oddities. It really does feel like a purposeful journey.
