Hey everyone! This week's selection is purely pragmatic. I'm deep into development of some really important features for Sound Club (hint hint....live listening sessions) that are consuming my time and headspace. When I'm in this sort of work mode I find that music can either be a bit of a distraction or a bit of fuel. For me, rhythmic music settles my mind and gives me focus that I don't have otherwise. That could be funk. That could be hip-hop. Many times it's electric music. Especially trippy, psychedelic, glitchy electronic music. For the past four or five days I have been absolutely obsessed with Magdalena Bay's Imaginal Disk. (Thanks for the pick @saintcomplex !) I really need to shake it up so I'm going back to an oldie, but a goodie. Bonobo's Black Sands is a super solid, no skips, moody EDM record that always had it's place as my "time to get shit done" go-to. So here it is, a pragmatic recommendation that I hope you all enjoy.
