Just got through a first spin. Have heard it plenty over the years, but these deep dives always provide new perspective. Pretty close to a masterpiece, imo. There is one track that started to pull me out of it, though. I'm curious if others will feel the same.
Very close to being the best album I've sat down with since starting this thing. The conceptual premise more than satisfies my need for artistry and experimentation in music. The cohesion of songwriting across a breadth in sounds and feelings is unbelievable. From ballads to rock and roll, early punk to glam, Bowie weaves an a series of absolute smash hits that is both of an era and timeless. This one deserves a seat next to any "greatest ever" albums in modern music.
We're coming up on our last day for Ziggy Stardust. If you haven't had a chance to tune in, now's the time. This album is pure magic.
