@mikeyanalog I've seen them once or twice at festivals but never really gave them a spin. I'm definitely down. What movie is your avatar from, btw? I can't put my finger on it.
@Laurenproctor Missed you on the way out of Madvillainy. Thanks for joining and for all of the great ideas. I'll see you in the next one!
@Brobertson35 Saw you signed up and popped into the Phoebe Bridgers session. Wanted to say hey! Hope we get to listen to some music together. This is my club if you want to give it a follow.
What's up people? I just started scheduling out a bunch of online listening Session for the next month. I'm always down to host so if there's an album that was picked here previously that you'd like to revisit together let me know!
@Pandoraoceanblu @zprofound @Sgeos @William just realized I have a future session set up for Magdalena Bay's Imaginal Disk, the album I mentioned being obsessed with. Hope you can join!
@club We're hosting a live listening session for IDLES' CRAWLER in 30 minutes - a dense, hypnotic post-punk record to shake off the front half of the week. If you're interested you'll find a link to the session room in the Sessions tab on the club page! Hope to see you there!
@club We have another live listening session starting in about 2 hours - Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Hate Machine. Come check it out if you're looking for a listen! Just tap on this message and head to the Sessions tab. The room opens 30 minutes before we start the album!
@Jangles Can't make this one but I did read the 33 1/3 book about this album a while ago. Pretty divisive opinions on GoodReads as it doesn't talk about the making of the album much. It's more a bunch of interviews from people in Ohio impacted by the album. Interesting read. Sanctified and Head Like a Hole are the obvious highlights for me :)
@andrewmackens that’s interesting. I have a few of those books. Super fun, but the subject matter can vary quite a bit, right?
@club We have a fun listening session today for one of the more unique concept albums in hip hop - Deltron 3030! Come check out Del’s take on the future at 5pm PT // 8pm ET.
ooh sad I missed it, its a defining record for me that got me into hip hop in my teens for sure
@pznibu I’m not a massive hip hop head, so this may be wildly inaccurate, but I feel like that album is massively underrated.
@William Yup! Thanks for asking. I'm a little slammed with work stuff today so can't make it happen. Should be back to it tomorrow!
@club there's a live listening session for New Order's Technique starting at the top of the hour. Come dive into the start of an accidental new wave week with us!
@club - we have Sun Ra's Lanquidity starting in a little over five minutes. Stop on by if you need some afternoon/evening tunes!
Hell yeah! I had the privilege of holding a pristine OG of that album in my hands. I'll probably never be about to afford a copy of my own though.
