There is a duality to this song for me. Being from Gen Xer, I have seen “A Charlie Brown Christmas” more times than I can count, & this song always stirs both feelings of joy for hopeful things to come & feelings of grief for those who are no longer with me or things that have changed in sorrowful ways. There is a unique emotional depth to this song that causes one to connect. It makes me feel reflective of my childhood Christmas memories, & as well as being cognizant of the time that is so quickly passing with my own children & missing ones who are now gone. This song is warm and comforting, & yet leaves me sometimes feeling a sense of longing for something that will never be again.
