It's time! I'm excited to see you selected a Rush album given their importance to you! (Also cool to see you're similarly obsessed with a specific live experience. I'm headed to Phish shows 134 and 135 in three weeks.) Going to give this one the time it deserves early this week.
I will put this album in the top 5 of the best RUSH albums. To me this one has no flaw. When it came out, it actually felt like.. this was the last one, from the bombastic opening of Caravan to that beautiful ending of The Garden. The song Headlong Flight is my new By-Tor and the Snow, which is my favorite Rush song. (actually that changes almost daily between that, and La Villa Strangiato). TheBelieve it or not, this is their first full concept album, from start to finish. If youre into steampunk fantasy, search out the novel Clockwork Angels, written by Neil Peart (drummer if ya didnt know). The first 4 songs on this album are absolutely epic, and please take note of the string orchestra layered thru the whole album. Ok, I could go all day on this album... curious to your thoughts.. bad and good.
