Does opening with an instrumental like Childs Anthem pull you into the album or make you impatient for the vocals to arrive?

So i was hoping for some sort of instrumental on this, and I was surprised it was the opener. Definitely a 70s feel.. gave me thoughts of early Alan Parsons Project

Total disclosure I had never listened to this album or Toto really, before this week. The instrumental was a fun surprise and oddly familiar. I’m not sure if it’s been used in anything but it felt like something I heard before. Very 70s but after hearing the whole album I wouldn’t say it sets the tone for the vibe or what comes next.
