This is by far the most extreme album ever to hit number 1, slipknot is not nu metal, they do have nu metal elements but they are just as much Death, grove and extreme metal

JanglesAdmin5/27

This one is outside of my comfort zone. I guess that's what Sound Club is all about, though. Diving in now!

JanglesAdmin5/27

This kind of feels like early Pantera with a bit more musical theatrics.

WilliamClub Host5/27

@Jangles i get the Pantera thing. Especially because they both the two heaviest bands to go number one

JanglesAdmin5/28

@William Pantera had a number one album?

WilliamClub Host5/28

@Jangles yes Panteras 3rd album far beyond driven hit number one on the top 40, its probably there heaviest

JanglesAdmin5/28

@William I had no idea. I guess I’m Broken was absolutely massive when it first came out.

JanglesAdmin5/28

Skin Ticket has some really interesting NIN/Trent Reznor vibes

WilliamClub Host5/28

@Jangles you know I've never really made that connection, but I see it

JanglesAdmin5/29

Still trying to wrap my head around all the members of the band. Are there two singers? Left Behind sounds like it. (Might be my favorite track.)

WilliamClub Host5/29

@Jangles nope just one singer, Cory Taylor, he is a great singer but doesn't show it off as much in slipknot, he has another band stone sour there not bad if your into bands like seether, 3 doors down, creed etc.

WilliamClub Host5/29

@Jangles also left behind is definitely a stand out
