@Jangles I really hope you give this one a listen, ive really enjoyed exposing you to more country music and the vast variety that it actually offers
@William hey! I’m going to try to find some time tomorrow. Been hustling on a pretty major addition to Sound Club - live listening sessions. Hoping to have it done in two weeks.
His vocal phrasing is so interesting. I just noticed it in She Likes It Too. The end of his melodies are always unexpected. It’s really cool.
Great pick. I appreciate the exposure in a genre that I’ve definitely had some bias against. This album was solid front to back. No skips, good variety, solid lyricism, great playing. I’m not often in the mood for country, but this would easily be a pick if I wanted to get into that vibe.
@Jangles im glad you liked it, im actually slightly surprised that out of the three country albums shown you this one was your highest rated
Is the John Prine album on the list? I think that’s my favorite. His rebellion through music makes that one standout to me. This one definitely feels like a standout version of quintessential country to me.
@Jangles yes john prine was on it. But sense my old club was archived, i couldn't see your rating, i have a feeling it was similar to this one tho
@William for sure. They both hit me in ways most country music doesn't. Think Noah Kahan falls into country? The Great Divide is right there with Olivia Dean's The Art of Loving as my favorite recent albums.
@Jangles id definitely say noha Kahn is country adjacent and definitely country inspired, kinda like Bob Dylan
