I did this one in my last club but it was during the new years no one interacted with it, so im really wanting this one to get some attention hopefully, I really am interested in what @Jangles has to think about this ones
Hey man! I do remember you hosting this one way back when we first started. I remember you saying it was your favorite album of last year? Will be good to revisit this one.
The opening riff in Eatin' Big Time reminds me of Talking Heads for some reason. It has a little of Life During Wartime to it.
@Jangles never made That connection in my head, and that's probably my favorite talking head song
@William it's a stretch for sure. Slower tempo. More flange/phase on the guitar, but it's immediately where my head went.
This one was a great listen. I always feel like Rick Rubin has a light touch as a producer, but he does have a knack for making music more accessible. I'm definitely not a country fan, but I appreciated the lyricism and songwriting.
@Jangles ya Rick is a big just give the people what they want type person, and Tyler seems to know what is fans want and go kinda left with it, 3 of these songs were written during his early period (Nose on the Grindstone, Oneida and Snipe Hunter) they were only ever played live and never recorded, the fans have wanted them for years but tyler never gave them, under Rick they were finally recorded in a studio (Rick gave us what we wanted) but recorded in a studio seen Nose to the Grindstone Switch the original Fucked Up His Back for messed up his back, and Snipe hunt started to resemble more of a garage rock song then the original slower accostic song (tyler went left)
@William super interesting. My favorite band, Phish, does that a lot. They'll write a song and play it live until they figure out the vibe/sound/structure. Some of them then end up on an album. Others have been fan favorites for thirty years without ever making it to the studio.
