The Listening Room

While everyone is busy talking about Grammys for the current album, let’s take it back on a straight through listen to 2006. Nearly to the day (released on Nov 27). Peak era.

New one to me. Looking forward to checking this one out.

I don't know what I was expecting, but that wasn't it. The whole album was jarring musically. Most of the tracks featured a simple drum beat with one or two sampled layers and no bass or melody. The other tracks were filled with out of control sounds, layers, even strange time signatures. It was pretty captivating. Mr. Me Too, Hello New World, Trill and Nightmares were highlights for me.
