Supermodel opens the album mid-thought — does starting in that raw, unguarded place set the emotional tone for everything that follows?

I didn't feel that this was mid-thought. The voicemail, or whatever it was, is exposition. I do feel like it's setting the emotional tone, though. Saying that losing control would be fatal is pretty direct. The lyrics feel like they're diving into that idea immediately. Having no control over a relationship and, in turn, having no control over yourself.
