Does the alien metaphor on ATLiens feel like a posture or a genuine expression of how Outkast saw themselves in 1996?

They Genuinely saw themselves as that. I can remember they got booed for winning at the 95 Source Awards. A southern act winning at the boiling point of a East & West feud. My point is that if you see us as southern, well you guessed wrong because how we look at ourselves as much broader than you could imagine.

Way different context, but a similar construct that @PressPlayersClub and I were discussing in my club while spinning Parliament’s Mothership Connection.

It's the evolution of Afro-Futurism in music but they really were Aliens in Hip Hop at the time. They are true originators and their sound isn't really an Atlanta sound. They are the best of the best that Atlanta has ever had to offer but nobody has been able to replicate that sound or dared to even try.
