I've been on a G-Unit run. I've been in the catalog. I always thought Lloyd Banks made the best total, and well-rounded albums outside of 50's. To me, this record sounds like it's made for snowy New York winters (get ready Zohran!) 2000s-era grit, grime, spinning rims and encrusted diamond crosses. What a time. It really carries you from song to song with such a cohesive sound in production. G-G-G-G!
The production so far is super simple. They're literally one or two beats looped over and over. Is that part of g-unit's sound?
"this record sounds like it's made for snowy New York winters (get ready Zohran!) 2000s-era grit, grime, spinning rims and encrusted diamond crosses. " I can definitely see it. There's grit and grime, but it also has some bounce to it just like 50's tracks do. Not sure what it is. Maybe the snare/claps? I think my favorite tracks were On Fire, I Get High and Warrior Part 2. Some nice guest versus throughout. The only thing that brought it down for me were the beats. The production was clean, but the compositions were pretty basic. A lot of them didn't have any switch up to break up sections of the tracks. Almost felt like a series of cypher beats. Curious what you think @harlanworld.
