From CreesjointFor this week鈥檚 Sound Club, we鈥檙e continuing with our theme of smaller artists that deserve more recognition. This week I鈥檓 putting y鈥檃ll onto MADEN LANE. MADEN LANE is a young duo from Sydney made up of Eden Loau and Max Laxon. The two actually met in high school playing in a funk band, and eventually started making music together, with Eden on vocals and Max handling the production. You can definitely hear some of their influences throughout the album, especially that mix of soul, R&B, jazz, and funk. Their self-titled album MADEN LANE came out earlier this year, and it鈥檚 a really smooth listen. It has that kind of warm, soulful sound that I think a lot of y鈥檃ll will appreciate, but they still have their own thing going on. I really enjoyed sitting with this album, and I think there鈥檚 something for everyone to find in it. So if you haven鈥檛 heard of MADEN LANE before, hopefully this is your introduction. Give the album a listen and let me know what stands out to you.
