From Jimbo_del_NorteNaoki Zushi was part of the Japanese underground going back to the late ’70s, including time with the psychedelic band Les Rallizes Dénudés. But his solo records are something else entirely. III came out in 2005. It’s mostly voice, guitar and a lot of space. There are pieces of folk and psychedelia in there, but it’s a hard record to put neatly into a category. Probably part of why I keep coming back to it.
