Knowing Discovery was designed as a film soundtrack changes how you experience it as a standalone album — does that context enrich or complicate your listening?

Pretty interesting fact about the album. For me, it reenforces my experience. This album had purposeful direction that led to a really complete journey fr beginning to end.

I think this is actually a debatable fact. The album has an accompanying animated movie, but it was released a couple of years later. There doesn’t appear to be consensus about whether the two were developed together, or if the movie follows the album.

That movie is Interstellar 5555, which I’ve never actually gotten around to watching… Daft Punk also released a movie called Electroma, which is a kind of slow avant garde arthouse joint. That one is really odd, but I kind of liked it.
