I don't want to miscast this club, and the idea of The Pocket, as being aligned to instrumental or jazz music. I did want to start with something that is so consistently great at getting "there",. MMW as a trio are incredibly. Each individual oozes with talent. What makes them special is how they listen and react to each other. They play as if they're magnets - no matter where they are they're constantly attracted to forming one unified sound. When you add Scofield to the mix the whole thing starts to move with swag that is undeniable.

Such a different experience listening with a more active mindset. We literally wore this cd out in college. I know most of it by heart, but I couldn't tell you the name of a single song. I'm through two listens and things feel a touch different when I'm watching the track list move by. I think that idea of "the pocket" is best served with an eyes closed sort of mindset. At least for the first spin through an album.

Lives up to what's been dancing in my head for 25 years. Still so easy to get lost in the grooves.
